When She Named Her Core, She Found Her Voice

Scripture: “Let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’…” – Matthew 5:37 (NIV)
Quote: “Your clarity will always cost you something—but confusion will cost you everything.” – Dr. Oyindamola Okenla
Inspiration: I remember the moment she said it. “I’ve been saying yes to everything except what matters to me.” Tears followed. Not from sadness, but recognition.
She wasn’t broken. She was misaligned.
That day, during one of our transformation sessions, she did something powerful—she named her core values out loud for the first time. Not the values people expected of her. Not the ones she was raised to perform. Her true values.
Suddenly, her confusion made sense. She was navigating life with a compass not her own.
That one exercise unlocked a shift:
She left a toxic job.
Rebuilt how she parented.
Stopped chasing approval.
And began designing a life she didn’t need to recover from.
That’s the gift of value alignment. It doesn’t just organize your goals. It reorders your soul.
Motivational Nugget: When you live from your values, peace becomes your default—not just your prayer.
Prayer: Lord, show me what matters most to You and me. Teach me to live anchored in what is true, not what is trending. Give me the boldness to live with clarity.
Affirmation: I choose what aligns. I release what drains. I build from my core.
What to Do:
Write down your top 3 core values. Then ask yourself: What decisions have I made lately that reflect—or contradict—those values?
Mark Your Calendar:
