The Belief That Broke Me—and How I Rebuilt Myself

We all carry beliefs we didn’t ask for.
Some were planted in childhood. Others came through pain, betrayal, or trauma.
But if we’re not careful, we’ll treat them like truth—even when they’re destroying us.
My limiting belief? “I have to earn love.”
That belief taught me to overperform. To be useful. To suppress my needs so I could be chosen.
And it left me exhausted, resentful, and constantly chasing worth.
💔 Where Do Limiting Beliefs Come From?
Limiting beliefs often form in moments of wounding:
A parent leaves, so you believe everyone will.
You fail once, so you believe you’ll never succeed.
You’re overlooked, so you believe your voice doesn’t matter.
But here’s the truth: Just because it was real doesn’t mean it was right.
🪞Rebuilding Starts with Rewriting
Romans 12:2 says, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Transformation isn’t just emotional—it’s mental.
You can’t heal your life while still thinking like your pain.
So how do you start?
💡 What to Do This Week
1. Name the lie. What limiting belief has been shaping your decisions?
2. Find the truth. What does God—or even your healed self—say instead?
3. Practice the shift. Create an “I used to believe… Now I believe…” statement.
🙏🏽 Prayer
God, reveal the hidden beliefs I’ve built my life around that are no longer serving me.
Help me release what was rooted in fear and embrace the truth of who I am in You.
Let my mind be renewed, my identity restored, and my life rebuilt on truth.
✨ Affirmation
I no longer live by the lie. I rise with the truth. My mind is renewed. My heart is free.
