10 THINGS YOU CAN DO DURING THE LOCKDOWN

With the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, there has been tension all over the place, panic buying, uneasiness everywhere. I was at the store this past weekend to pick my usual stuff, but when I saw the long line, I did not bother to come out of the car.

For many of us, the chaos of the current situation in the world leaves us full of anxiety, worry, and stress.
People are worried and anxious because nobody is sure when this will be over, what could happen, or not happen.
Indeed there is no doubt that we are in strange and uncertain times right now!
All manners of news flashing –  around and more from the none experts, inciting more confusion and fear. Every day brings with it another disheartening news headline.

Programs and events were canceled here and there; not excluding my pet project which has now been moved unto an online platform (By the way, you can still REGISTER for that, when you do you will receive the participation link)

One thing is certain in the midst of all these, the WORD of GOD is ever reliable!

SO WHAT CAN YOU DO IN A MOMENT LIKE THIS?

I have listed below ten things you can execute to stay in shape during this Coronavirus or Covid-19 pandemic, which had led to lockdown in almost all the nations and cities of the world.

1

PRACTICE MIND MANAGEMENT Choose what you allow to come through your mind. Learn to filter information; you have the right to choose what and who you listen to or what you read.
THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU HEAR!

“Do Not Be Anxious About Anything, But In Every Situation, By Prayer And Petition, With Thanksgiving, Present Your Requests To God.”

Philippians 4:6

“So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.”

Philippians 4:8

CAPTURE YOUR THOUGHTS AND DEMOLISH EVERY NEGATIVE WORD!

“We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One.”

2 Corinthians 10:5
2

HOLD ON TO GOD’S PROMISES In moments like this, it is better to hold on to God’s promises, as stated in His Words.

“Put on truth as a belt to strengthen you to stand in triumph. Put on holiness as the protective armor that covers your heart.”

Ephesians 6:14

Filter the news- listen to facts only.
Be selective in what you listen to.
Engage yourself in the study and the meditation of the Word and holding on to it.

LOOK OUT FOR GOD’S PURPOSES AND PLANS IN ALL THAT IS HAPPENING

Read through the Bible, and you will discover the purposes and plans of God as it is evolving through the current pandemic known as Covid-19. It may be news to you and me but not to God (Isaiah 46:10)

“I will bless you with a future filled with hope—a future of success, not of suffering. You will turn back to me and ask for help, and I will answer your prayers. You will worship me with all your heart, and I will be with you and accept your worship. Then I will gather you from all the nations where I scattered you, and you will return to Jerusalem.”

Jeremiah 29:11-14

Check out these passages to look into the plans and purposes of God. Looking at it, all I can say is that God wants us to DRAWBACK TO HIM. It’s time to return to God! His arm is wide open to receive us.

2 Chronicles 7:13-14; Joel 2: 12 -17

“Suppose I hold back the rain or send locusts to eat the crops or make my people suffer from deadly diseases.
If my people will humbly pray and turn back to me and stop sinning, then I will answer them from heaven. I will forgive them and make their land fertile once again.”
2 Chronicles 7: 13- 14 CEV

Also remember that God has a purpose for you and you will not die without fulfilling that purpose. No panicking! No shaking! (Psalm 57:2)

Walk in faith and not by sight!(Galatians 2:20)

4

PRAY FERVENTLY AND WITHOUT CEASING!

“Pray Without Ceasing.”

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Pray for our world. Pray for those who are already infected. Pray for those who are fighting at the frontline of the battle – the medical personnel, medical researchers for a breakthrough in the cure for the coronavirus. Pray for all on essential duties. Pray for the vulnerable – the elderly, children, and those who have pre-existing conditions. Pray for the plague to stop.

PRAISE GOD

There is no better time to praise, the owner of the earth and everything and everyone that is in it (Psalm 24:1) Don’t ever forget – GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME. ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD!

“Then I heard all beings in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and in the sea offer praise. Together, all of them were saying, “Praise, honor, glory, and strength forever and ever to the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb!”

Revelations 5:13 CEV

We are still here; “let everything that has breath praise the Lord!”

6

ABIDE IN HIS PRESENCE

Continue to seek and abide in God’s presence. In His presence, there are security and satisfaction. GOD’S PRESENCE IS NOT IN A BUIDING. CHURCH ATTENDANCE IS GOOD, BUT DON’ T BE CONFUSED!

Be a disciple and not just a church -goer.

As you abide in His presence, continue to pray Psalm 91 over yourself and your household.

“You who sit down in the High God’s presence, spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow, Say this: “ God , you’re my refuge. I trust in you and I’m safe!” That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps, shields you from deadly hazards. His huge outstretched arms protect you— under them, you’re perfectly safe; his arms fend off all harm. Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night, not flying arrows in the day, Not disease that prowls through the darkness, not disaster that erupts at high noon. Even though others succumb all around, drop like flies right and left, no harm will even graze you. You’ll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance, watch the wicked turn into corpses. Yes, because God ’s your refuge, the High God your very own home, Evil can’t get close to you, harm can’t get through the door. He ordered his angels to guard you wherever you go. If you stumble, they’ll catch you; their job is to keep you from falling. You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes, and kick young lions and serpents from the path.”

7

RIGHTFULLY POSITION YOURSELF.

🔸STAY AT HOME🔸 IF YOU ARE NOT ON ESSENTIAL DUTY!
There is nothing wrong with the lockdown; It is scriptural. And necessary for a time like we are in to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

If you are already sick, self-quarantine for 14 days.

“Come, my people, go home and shut yourselves in. Go into seclusion for a while until the punishing wrath is past Because God is sure to come from his place to punish the wrong of the people on earth. Earth itself will point out the bloodstains; it will show where the murdered have been hidden away.”

Isaiah 26:20

Be responsible; don’t be a COVIDIOT!

8

TAKE HEED to do the needful, like someone aptly said, ” WASH AND PRAY.”

Practice the prevention recommendations as provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

9

ENGAGE YOUR TIME WISELY!

Don’t waste the opportunity of staying at home compulsorily; don’t take as a time to laze away but as an opportunity to invest in something that will add value to your life and those of others.

Be creative; find something to do.

Do something you have always wanted to do, but for which you have not had the time. For instance, I created a new book for women. You can DOWNLOAD if you are a woman 😍

BE AT PEACE!

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

Isaiah 26:3

“God, you’re such a safe and powerful place to find refuge! You’re a proven help in time of trouble— more than enough and always available whenever I need you. So we will never fear even if every structure of support were to crumble away. We will not fear even when the earth quakes and shakes, moving mountains and casting them into the sea. For the raging roar of stormy winds and crashing waves cannot erode our faith in you. Pause in his presence God has a constantly flowing river whose sparkling streams bring joy and delight to his people. His river flows right through the city of God Most High, into his holy dwelling places. God is in the midst of his city, secure and never shaken. At daybreak his help will be seen with the appearing of the dawn. When the nations are in uproar with their tottering kingdoms, God simply raises his voice and the earth begins to disintegrate before him. Here he comes ! The Commander! The mighty Lord of Angel Armies is on our side. The God of Jacob fights for us! Pause in his presence Everyone look! Come and see the breathtaking wonders of our God. For he brings both ruin and revival . He’s the one who makes conflicts end throughout the earth, breaking and burning every weapon of war. Surrender your anxiety! Be silent and stop your striving and you will see that I am God. I am the God above all the nations, and I will be exalted throughout the whole earth.”
Psalms 46:1‭-‬10 TPT

ON A FINAL NOTE!

Have you ever thought of connecting to your maker as your SAVIOR and MASTER? If not, what are you waiting for? I believe this is an appropriate time. Hear this-

“I, the Lord , invite you to come and talk it over. Your sins are scarlet red, but they will be whiter than snow or wool.  If you willingly obey me, the best crops in the land will be yours.  But if you turn against me, your enemies will kill you. I, the Lord , have spoken.

In the Scriptures God says, “When the time came, I listened to you, and when you needed help, I came to save you.” That time has come. This is the day for you to be saved.”

Isaiah 1:18‭-‬20 CEV; 2 Corinthians 6:2 CEV

Confess your sins. Ask for forgiveness and open your heart to Jesus Christ to come in, as your Savior and Master. Ask Him to take charge of your life, and all that concerns you- leading and guiding you from henceforth.
